Story

A reluctant daughter visits her institutionalized father to introduce her fiancé.

Marmermijn’s third film, featuring Elout Hol, Rik Witteveen, and Karlijn Koel.

‘Uit de Hand’ performed well at the 48 Hour Film Project Leeuwarden in 2018: it was runner-up for Best Film, won Best Actress (Karlijn) and Best Writing, and was nominated for Best Directing and Best Actor (Elout).

The film is a story about a grieving father, unable to cope in a healthy way with the loss of his wife. His coping mechanism—a puppet whom he thinks is his late wife—prevents him from reuniting with his daughter. But her new fiancé might be able to bridge the gap between them.
